Entity Foundations
What are the foundations of belief in an intersubjective entity? Are they created by the collective mind or are they to be found a priori in the primitive brain? This installation is a visual research into the foundations of religious architecture and its effects on human perception.
Specifically for this work, I researched the floorplans of religious architecture and tried to give physical form to the concepts that have been used for centuries by different cultures. The megalomaniac structures society has erected in the name of their deity have in my opinion a similar goal: to ‘Awe’ people and give them a ‘creature feeling’. With this they subjugate the people unconsciously to fictional mystical and powerful forces.
