Daniel Arthuus

CNC: Phalanx

To introduce replicable media in my studio I 3D printed and built a computer guided CNC machine. This enabled me to remove the personal touch of myself and make sure that my work is not dependent on a value based on its rarity. But rather on its concept and production.
This does not mean it will be mass produced, but rather that it can be remade. This guarantees a steady quality till the end of times. Public space becomes more accessible since every piece can be replaced when destroyed by ravaging individuals. Shipping artworks won't be necessary if a local company can recreate the artwork with my instructions.
These are the first steps of my part to decentralise art and create a more accessible art world for everyone.
